Darrington Academy is a specialty boarding school for struggling teens. In addition to our academic emphasis, the school uses special seminars and workshops to develop character, self-confidence, leadership, and more.

Darrington Academy provides a structured schedule while providing extensive supervision for our select group of students, who while possessing great potential, have made choices which are limiting their future successes. We understand that each student must make the changes within themselves; and we provide numerous opportunities for each student to identify and overcome their individual problems.

Academics

The academic needs of our students are met through the use of the latest computer assisted learning programs. This curriculum provides the same content and rigor found in a standard classroom, and may be modified to each student’s specific needs. Each student works at an individual pace, without the many distractions they have at home. They can work quickly in courses they are good at, and slowly through those with which they may struggle. The curriculum is also very well suited to the needs of students with attention deficit disorders, as the material is presented using a variety of media sources. Because the computers do most of the grading and record keeping, our exceptional teachers and teaching assistants are able to spend the majority of their class time engaged in teaching lessons on an individual basis.

Darrington Academy Location:

Darrington is located on the outskirts of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Nestled in the southern most portion of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this quaint little town is a little more than an hour north of Atlanta and provides the perfect setting for our students to develop academically, as well as in character. The climate provides an opportunity for students to experience all four seasons without getting too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter, while the surrounding mountains offer a multitude of year round opportunities for outdoor activities.

The beautiful setting near the Blue Ridge Mountains offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor actives.
